Description

{1} Archaeological observation during the construction of a new supermarket behind the High Street. The method of construction did not involve stripping of large areas. Most of the buildings rest on concrete piles. Medieval quarry pits were noted, property boundaries corresponding to those depicted in the 1803 map were observed. A number of pits dating to the 17th-19th centuries were also recorded.
