Description

{1} Rescue excavations were undertaken in late February and March 1984. Up to a metre of overburden was removed by machine and likewise the remains of the underlying post-medieval buildings, in order to expose the medieval occupation levels. There was a domestic stone building fronting onto a cobbled road and traces of an adjoining building to the west. To the rear of the house the medieval levels had been significantly disturbed, although parts of a yard and boundary wall had survived.
