Building record 6292/2/1 - Railway Museum, Formerly Main Station Building

Former Rushden railway station on the Higham Ferrers branch line, opened in 1893 and closed in 1969.

{1} The railway station was in use between 1893 and 1959. The building was used for some time by Blunsom's Outfitters and has now been bought by Rushden Historical Transport Society and converted into a railway museum. Film 6, photo 22-25, Film 7, photo 1-3.

{3-4} Further information about the railway station and its current use as a museum. In 1984 Rushden Historical Transport Society obtained a lease on Rushden Station building and eventual purchase in 1996. The site was developed and restored and in 2009 ran its first passenger train from Rushden Station.
