Monument record 1301/33 - Leather Works, Ponds Close

Historic name: Edwards Brothers leather factory, Manor Street. A two storey leather works on the north side of Ponds Close. Brick built with a pitched slate-covered roof. Ordnance Survey maps suggest that it was built c.1900. Now demolished

{1} Leather works factory shown on area of Ponds Close. The building which is a 6 bay, 2 storey structure is still in existence today and is being utilised by 'Antona Office Supplies Ltd'. Part of the structure has been re-built in modern times. New windows have been inserted into the upper storey, but the ground floor retains its original features.

{2} Two-story factory built shortly after 1899, probably before 1906 and probably for the firm of Edwards Brothers, curriers.
