Building record 1933/0/31 - Workshop, Orchard Street/ Albert Road

A small single-storey, four-bay workshop probably associated with the shoe industry and dating from circa 1890.

This single-storey workshop stands in the rear garden of 43 Orchard Street (part of a terrace) and fronts Albert Road to the west. It is four bays long and gabled north-south, with a small stack on the north gable. The windows in the west front have chamfered blue brick sills and a continuous timber lintel. In the second half of the 20th century a garage door was inserted in the south gable and the west windows were reduced to small top-lights.
