Full Description

{1} Gasworks. The first gas works was erected in 1867. By 1874 there was one gas holder and the village was lighted with 32 public lamps. The gas works have now gone, but there is a small area marked off and out of use. Owned by Transco. There is a small, modern structure or tank on the area. The former show room remains having been converted into a private residence. Noted in Finedon Otherwise Thingdon.
