Summary
A now demolished shoe factory was built in the early 1920s for the well known wholesale shoemakers Stead and Simpson. They retained this principally north-lit factory until the 1960s when it passed into the hands of Whites of Earls Barton another shoe making firm. In 1999 the factory was sold and then demolished to allow the construction of a new Tescos.
