This two-storey building is seven bays in length and has a hipped roof. Its southwest elevation, fronting onto Finedon Road, comprises two bays, divided by pilasters with stone dressings; there are two windows per bay on each floor and no doorway. An alley to the northwest leads to the rear of the building and in the fifth bay (which is wider than the others) is a goods entrance with a first-floor taking-in door above. A large window adjacent to the door occupies two bays and appears to be original; it has the remains of a frame for a sliding wooden shutter. The blind
window to the southwest appears to be an original feature. For the most part, the windows have segmental heads and blue brick dressings including a single-course hood-mould.
On the northeast elevation a ground-floor window has been converted into a doorway, there is also a brick projection which would appear to have housed a stack, although there is now no evidence of this at roof level. The map evidence indicates that there was a narrow building extending from the northeast elevation which may have been an engine or boiler house; this existed in 1899 but had gone by 1924.
There were further buildings to the rear in 1899 which had been substantially rebuilt and expanded by 1924. The 1924 map describes the larger site to the northeast as a leather dressing works and it is possible this site (sharing the same yard entrance) was part of the larger complex (HER No: 1624/25/2). The buildings to the northeast have subsequently been demolished to make way for modern development.
