{1} Wesleyan Chapel, High Street. Methodism in Irthlingborough established in 1808. Prior to opening of the new Chapel in 1897 the Wesleyan Chapel in High Street now used as a school room was used. The early building is still in existence and is currently in use by 'JM Bayes Auction Salesroom'. It is a large building with a red brick frontage with stone to the rear. The building is shown on early Ordnance Survey maps as a 'Sunday School' and now has a sign for 'The Old Chapel'. Film ?, photo 22.
