Building record 953/0/33 - No.11 Market Place (Cox & Robinson's Pharmacy)

Please read our .

Summary

The western part of 11 Market Place , shown as a distinct entity on the 1884 and 1899 Ordnance Survey maps, extends rearwards on a tapering plot. While the narrow street frontage has a domestic appearence of early to mid 19th century date, the rear is industrial in charecter. It has been considerably altered, and there is currently insufficent fenestration to sugget that it was a shoe factory, but it may have formed a warehouse associated with the shoe industry, especially given its proximity to the workshops behind 3-11 Station Road, which abuts at their northern end.
