Building record 953/38/1 - Long Buckby Infants School

The new infant school was built in 1894 for 250 children, the building was of brick construction and was located on High Street. The structure remains in use as a school today, but extensive alterations and extensions were made in 1973. Locally listed building.

{3} The infants’ school stands on High Street in the centre of the village and is a good example of late Victorian village school architecture with a double-gabled frontage in the revivalist style, built in 1894. The building is built of red brick with a slate roof and two central chimneys. The frontage has
decorative string courses and pebbledash at the apex of the gables. The school has been enlarged in the 20th century at the rear.
