Full Description

Rose and Crown, Market Place
Building shown on maps as inn. Now Rose and Crown. The structure is of 17th century date with later detail such as window / door casings added in the 19th century. Film 2, photo 17. (1)

{2}Probably C17 origin. Early C19 ashlar front with fairly steep slate roof. 2 storyes. 3 3-light windows to 1st floor. 2 modern bows on ground on stone bases, modern glazing bars, linked by wood hood, curved over central door with radiating Gothic fanlight. Wrought iron sign bracket. All the listed buildings in Market Place form a group.
