Full Description
To the north of the castle are earthwork platforms on the north side of a probable hollow way, representing the road eastward to Warmington, which are likely to be tenements extending eastward from that which survived on the east of the mill lane in 1716. They were perhaps removed in the mid 15th century when the castle was extended and the road diverted, but they may equally represent late medieval depopulation. (1)
