Full Description

{1} The church was given by Simon de Senlis II to Delapre Abbey and a vicarage was ordained. In 1412, with the foundation of the college, the vicarage was relinquished by Delapre Abbey and responsibilities transferred to the College. A vicarage was instituted again following the dissolution. Certain lands were set aside in 1635 as glebe for the vicarage. In c.1720 the vicarage lay on the south side of the church, on part of the site of college. This may be the building depicted in 1718 below the church. By 1720 (1791?) Fotheringhay was a curacy. In 1806 there was a Rectory and Parsonage, property formerly of Fotheringhay College, as well as a Vicarage. By the 1880s a new vicarage had been constructed on the north side of the main road at the junction with the new Nassington road [805/10].
