Full Description

{1} In the area of The Hall Mill is a group of earthworks which have never been subject to detailed earthwork survey. The mill was apparently still in use in 1701 when manor included 'the Slayts, and water mill with Holme...'. The mill went out of use and was probably demolished between 1721 and 1819. Given its proximity to the town and manor it is likely that this is the site of the medieval watermill and possibly is that recorded in 1086.
