Full Description
For full details of tenements see section 10 Historical Topography in main report.
The shops and stalls were all apparently located in the market place in the medieval and post medieval period, as in other towns. Some were converted to tenements, as in the case of 'Behind the Stye' while others were cleared from the market place in the 19th century. (1) (2) (3)
