Site of railway station on the Great Central Railway, opened in 1899 and closed in 1963 (for Passengers) and 1964 (for Goods). The former stationmaster's house and adjacent remains of the brick built goods shed and weighbridge still survive. Now private residence

Full Description
{1} Opened in 1899, Helmdon station was of a typical Great Central pattern. The island platform was accessed from the road bridge. The platform is still visible from the north side of the road bridge. Closer to the village, the stationmaster's house is still a dwelling and adjacent are the remains of the brick built goods shed and weighbridge. Helmdon station closed in 1963.
