Summary

Twin viaducts taking the Midland mainline across the Nene between Irchester and Wellingborough. The west viaduct dates from the building of the Leicester to Bedford extension of the Midland Railway, which was opened in 1857. The east viaduct was built when the line was quadrupled in the late 1870s. Both are brick but the later one has a steel girder section across the river.
