Monument record 8445/1/11 - Firing range, Sywell Airfield

Remains of 25-yard firing range at Sywell Airfield.

{1} Located 180m north of Holcot Lane gate besides airfield boundary hedge. Machine gun range, type 147/41 – standard 25 yard range. Brick office/store to west of firing position and butts. Corrugate iron roofs later added for agricultural use. “Building shown on plan (Air Ministry Drawing 3821/56, Building No.46) as being a Brooklands Aviation Co. building, rather than Air Ministry.” Good condition (but since demolished?). Colour photos.
