Summary

A World War Two cantilevered pillbox at Kingscliffe / King's Cliffe Airfield. The pillbox is situated to the west side of the former airfield close to its western perimeter fence (visible as a section of barbed wire). It may have been built in 1941, using concrete and brick. Its internal gun rail is missing. When it was visited in 1997 it was said to be in fair condition.

Full Description

{1} Standing on the western airfield perimeter. Regular FC Construction mushroom pillbox. Neighbour to that at c.TL02059782. Brick entry stairs down. Internal gun rail is missing. It is located in the airfield's western perimeter fence with traces of rusty barbed wire on picket posts. One of four such pillboxes at the airfield, all within the western part. Condition is assessed as good. Two photos. Marked as 108 on airfield record site plan IWA/793/51.
