Full Description
{1}SOE secret HQ initially at 64 Baker St London. Its secret telephone lines ran to 4 large secret radio stations hidden on premises some distance from London at Grendon, Poundon, Bicester & Dunbar, desginated as stations 53-A, 53-B, 53-c & 53-D. Part of the wider secret SOE arganisational network in UK/occupied France. Plan of the station at Poundon is depicted on p174 B Lowery of the opinion that the Grendon site probably similar arrangment. Poundon comprised an extensive transmitter aerial web extending across a 125 acre area.Some prefabricated buildings were present for the transmitters; also access road and many aerials.
{2} Refers to the SOE setting up their home at Poundon and Grendon Underwood (Bucks). Possibly misrecorded in Lorain's work as Grendon in Northants?
