Full Description
{1} By 1942 the expanding RAF needed tremendous backup with stores, spares and equipment of all kinds. Maintenance Units were established as more airfields opened. Maintenance Units supplied almost everything to the RAF. As new bomber bases opened in the area so No 204 MU formed at Harborough Road, Rushden on 13.1.42 as a subsidiary of No 25 MU Hartlebury, Worcs. The new MU was known as an Equipment Park and dealt only in airborne stores. Four officers and 149 other ranks employed at the peak time late in 1944.
