Full Description

{1} The number of aircraft needing repair increased rapidly during 1940 and the accommodation at the main centre at Sywell was found to be inadequate. A purpose built factory at Buttocks Booth carried out repairs to fuselages, engine nacelles, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Army vehicles were also re-conditioned for a time. Varsity aircraft wings were transported to Buttocks Booth up until 1973. Aircraft work continued into 1974.
