Full Description

{1} Possible ringwork. An oval earthwork with sub-rectangular annexe situated across the line of the former street shown on the 1810 Inclosure Map, and part overlain by building platforms and house sites and encroached by another hollow way. The earthwork may pre- date the village earthworks. However, its position at the foot of a sunken way or quarry around which the 19th century farm buildings were grouped is curious, and if this feature was contemporary with the oval earthwork, might have formed the entrance approach. Report and sketchplan.
