Full Description

{1} The priniciple archaeological features are represented by a series of curvillinear anomalies adjacent to the modern fenceline at the west of the survey area. They would appear to represent a series of ditches located on the top of the slope overlooking the slade. It was within this area that Roman pottery and tile were recovered during previous fieldwalking of the site. Possible curvilinear anomalies within the enclosure may represent the presence of structures such as roundhouses.

Possibly associated with the enclosure are a series of localised anomalies, again with a very strong magnetic response. These may represent pits but the presence of slad on the field and the strong bipolar response of the anomalies could indicate that they represent the remains of waste dumps or furnaces.
