Full Description

{1} House. Datestone 1654 on central gable. Enlarged c.1700. Coursed squared ironstone, limestone dressings, thatched roof, flanking stone and brick stacks. 3 bays, 2 storeys and attic. L-plan. Central doorway with square hood, ribbed plank door and side-light to left. Window to right is of 2 lights with stone mullions and square hood. Similar 4-light windows in left and right bays and 3-light stone mullioned windows with square hoods on first floor. Central gabled half-dormer with 2-light stone mullioned window. Coped right gable end with kneelers. Right side has stone mullioned windows of 4 lights on ground floor, 3- and 2 lights above. Wing projecting from left probably c.1700. Coursed ironstone rubble, one bay, 2 storeys and attic. Windows with wood lintels and wood casements (mostly renewed). Interior: altered c.1700 when through passage entry widened and winder stair built in new extension. Stone corner fireplace with 4-centred arch in ground floor room.
