Full Description

{1} Public House. C18, remodelled c.1850. Squared uncoursed limestone, artificial stone slate roof, stone stacks. 2 storeys and attic, 3 bays. Central doorway with moulded stone lintel and C20 plank door, flanked by bay window with stone mullions. First floor windows have heavy moulded wood casements of 2 lights with plain stone frames. Gabled dormers with similar casements. All windows have octagonal leaded panes. Large double chimney stack with moulded bases and caps. C18 gabled wing at rear.

{3} It is said that the last man to be hung for sheep stealing was arrested in the Red Lion.
