Summary

Gothic style chapel at St Andrews Hospital designed by G G Scott in 1853 and built in 1861-3. The building is faced with banded Northampton ironstone and limestone and has a slate roof. It is of rectangular plan with a north west bell-turret.

Full Description

{1} Circa 1863 by Sir George Gilbert Scott. Detached building in C14 style. Stone , stone slated roof. Aisles; north transept and north west turret with small spire. St Andrew's Hospital, Chapel, Chaplain's House and Main Gateway form a group together with the Occupational Therapy House which is of local interest.

{3} Stone object in flowerbed at east end of St Andrews chapel (cSP7698 6043). Upper part comprises cut down decorated stonework, re-used as modern flower container. Re-used medieval font, capital? See 7997/0/1
