Full Description

{1} Statue group. Stone. C17. Representing Aeneas carrying his father Anchises out of Troy, accompanied by his son Ascarius on tall pedestal with plinth, cornice, moulded panels and semi-circular ends decorated with swags. Probably originally sited at Boughton House, Weekley C.P. (q.v.) and brought here in C19.

{3} In garden by pond are 2 statues from Boughton (Aeneas & Anchises; Hercules & Cacus) attributed to Andreas Kearne; Booth family agents at Boughton in C18th & C19th;
