Early C19th. Two storey, 19th-century house. Higher than No 2, ashlar faced, with deep parapet, very steep roof, brick chimney stacks, four windows to 1st floor, sash in plain reveals, flat arched heads.

Platband above and below 2nd storey. House entrance off-centre west, stone doorcase, pilasters and plain entablature, radiating fanlight. Now filled with window. Late C19 shop front to right. Formerly wide entry to left. Nos 2 to 36 (even) and 42 to 46A (even) and 52 to 98 (even) form a group.
