A former farmhouse with an attached courtyard of outbuildings, likely of C18 origin, with C19 and C20 alterations

Full Description

{1} C18th origin, with probably early C19th details to front elevation. 2 storeys, rough rendered, with brick to rear and double span roof of stone slates. Brick stacks. 3 windows, hung sashes with glazing bars, 2 on ground floor. Doorway with plain pilasters and half-glazed door. Courtyard of outbuildings of 2 storeys in brick with steep stone slate roofs. Buildings include a former malthouse to New Road in small bricks with a hoist door in gable end. No 2 and outbuildings form a group with No 1 New Road.

{3} Malthouses, River Nene/Station Road. Number of buildings for malthouses are still in existence - include one complex which is primarily red brick construction and the other which is built of stone. The surviving malthouses have now been converted to domestic residences. It is possible that a number of additional malthouses have been demolished. Film 7, photo 8, 9, 10, 11,13,15, 21.

{3} Delisted in 2022 due to the substantial alterations through conversion to residential use.
