Summary

A house set back from the road with a low walled forecourt. Built circa 1700. A magnificent house of massive proportions. Two storeys, attics and semi-basement, ashlar, stone slate roof double gabled. Good stone chimney stacks, triple flues, on each gable, and two off centre left on forward ridge. Chamfered quoins, dentilled eaves cornice. Seven windows:- 2, 3, 2, slight central breakforward, band between the storeys. Three dormers with shallow curved tops. Ground floor and 1st floor windows early sash with heavy glazing bars (except three ground floor right of centre), wooden cases, plain wide architraves with keystones. Central entrance approached by flight of 5 5 stone steps with wrought iron rails. Doorway moulder architrave and triangular ipediment on two consoles, panelled door. Six two-light stone mullioned windows to the basement. Good interior and garden front.

Chamfered quoins, dentilled eaves cornice. 7 windows:- 2:3:2, slight central break forward, band between the storeys. 3 dormers with shallow curved tops. Ground floor and 1st floor windows early sash with heavy lazing bars (except 3 ground floor right of centre), wooden cases, plain wide architraves with keystones. Central entrance approached by flight of 5 stone steps with wrought iron rails. Doorway moulded architrave and triangular pediment on 2 consoles, panelled door. Six 2-light stone mullioned windows to the basement. Good interior and garden front. All the listed builidngs on the east side of North Street form a group.
