Summary

Two early 19th century almshouses with an attached outbuilding located on the northern side of Bridge Street. The building is constructed of squared coursed limestone with a double pitch Collyweston slate roof with ashlar ridge and gable chimney stacks and parapets. The almshouses are single story with a six window range of casements with a central door. An outbuilding is attached to the right and the building has been altered during the 20th century.

Full Description

{1} Pair of almshouses. Early C19 for Elizabeth Hutcheson's Charity altered C20. Squared coursed limestone with Collyweston slate roof. Originally 2-unit plan. Single storey. 5-window range of C20 casements, under shallow arch heads. Central recessed entrance has C20 door and window. Ashlar gable parapets and kneelers to left and ashlar stacks at ends. One unit outbuilding, attached to right, has leaded casement window. Shallow stone arch and 4-panel door to left, under similar head. Interior not in pected. Included for group value.
