Full Description
{1} Pump house. Probably C19th for Fineshade Abbey estate. Limestone ashlar and brick. Single-unit pump house, partly below ground. External wall is ashlar with remains of parapet. Plank door under shallow arch has flanking ashlar walls. Interior has plain brick vault. Overshot iron water wheel with remains of wooden paddles. Remains of pumping machinery attached. Shut-off valve in wall above water wheel. Lead pipe rises from pumping machinery. Probably used to pump well water to Fineshade Abbey.
