Building record 2888/3/4 - Dovecote c.50m North of Home Farmhouse

Summary

A single story dovecote located 50 metres north of Home Farmhouse, on the western side of the High Street. It was probably constructed during the late 17th to early 18th century of coursed limestone with a pyramid Collyweston slate roof capped by a Glover with a pyramid roof and finial. The dovecote is square in plan with ashlar quoins and dressings with a small plank door in the southern elevation. The interior is believed to contain nesting boxes.

Full Description

{1} Dovecote. Probably late C17/early C18. Squared coursed limestone with Collyweston slate roof. Square plan. Single storey. Small plank door in south elevation. Pyramid roof with glover at apex also with pyramid roof and finial. Interior not inspected but said to retain nesting boxes.
