Summary

An early to mid 18th century house that was modified during the 20th century is situated on the north western side of Gretton Road. The building is constructed of squared coursed limestone with a double pitch thatch roof with a brick chimney stack at the eastern gable. The building is two storeys with an attic range lit by two eyebrow dormer windows. An attached outbuilding to the right is single story with a double pitch tile roof and now forms a part of the main house. The road facade of the main build has a two window range of casements under wooden lintels with a doorway to the far right. The former outbuilding has two small casement windows on the far left and right.

Full Description

House. Early/mid C18. Squared coursed limestone with thatch and C20 plain tile roof. Originally 2-unit plan. Single storey with attic. 2-window range of C20 p.v.c. casements, in original openings, under wood lintels. Similar casements, under eyebrow dormers, to attic. C20 door, to far right, also under wood lintel. Brick stack at end. Single-unit, single-storey outbuilding to right, now forms part of house, and has C20 plain tile roof. Interior: room to right has open fireplace with bressumer. S op-chamfered spine beam. Evidence of collar truss to attic and remains of stud partition between rooms.
