Summary

A 17th century farmhouse with mid 18th century alterations that was converted to a house during the 20th century is situated on the eastern side of the High Street, south of its junction with Kissing Lane. The house is built of squared coursed limestone with a double pitch Collyweston slate roof with projecting parapets and chimney stacks at the gable ends. The entrance facade has three hipped dormer windows above three casement windows under wooden lintels. The entrance is central and has a wooden trellis porch flanked by two, three light casement windows.

Full Description

{1} Farmhouse now house. C17 origins and mid C18. Squared coursed limestone with stone slate roof. T-shape plan. 2 storeys, part with attics. Main front is a 3-window range of C20 p.v.c. casements, in original openings, under wood lintels. Central, 6 panel door, under wood lintel. Hipped eaves dormers. Ashlar gable parapets and stone stacks at ends. Rear wing of 2-unit plan, 2 storeys is of C17 origin, similar to main front. Interior not inspected, but noted as having open fireplace with bressumer.
