Summary

A 17th century farmhouse with an early 18th century extension and 19th to 20th century alterations is located on the southern side of Wakerley Road. The farmhouse is constructed of squared coursed lias and brick with a double pitch Welsh slate roof with ridge and gable chimney stacks. The entrance facade has a four window range of casements to the first floor with similar windows beneath, interrupted by a central door. The bay extension to the right is a part of the 18th century extension and the bay of the left is a 20th century garage. During the 19th to 20th century the building was converted to a house.

Full Description

House. C17 and C18. Squared coursed limestone and lias with thatch and corrugated asbestos roof. Originally one-unit plan now 3 units. Single storey with attic. 4-window range of irregular C19 style casements, under wood lintels. 2 similar casements, under eyebrow dormers, to right. Ashlar gable parapets and brick and stone stacks to end. C19/C20 lean-to extension to right has corrugated asbestos roof. Two C20 doors to rear, under wood lintels, and 3 eyebrow dormers. Interior not inspected but n ted as having remains of open fireplaces and ceiling beams. Probably extended to the west C18.
