Summary

An 18th century house known as Post Cottage located on the northern side of Wakerley Road, just east of Harringworth village. The house is constructed of squared coursed limestone with a double pitch thatch roof with two brick chimney stacks along the ridge. It is single story with an attic range lit by four eyebrow eaves dormer windows with casements. The road facing facade has a three window range of casements under wooden lintels with a wooden entrance porch to the right of the centre and a blocked door on the far right. The building was restored during the 20th century.

Full Description

{1} House. C18 restored C20. Squared coursed limestone with thatch roof. Originally 3-unit plan. Single storey with attic. 4-window range of C20 casements, with glazing bars, under eyebrow dormers. 3 similar windows on ground floor under C20 lintels. C20 door, with wooden porch, to right of centre. Blocked door to far right. Brick stacks at ridge and end. Straight jamb to left indicates different build of end bay. Interior not inspected but probably has remains of open fireplace. Included for group value.
