Summary

A mid 18th century house known as Furleigh House has early 19th century alterations and is situated on the northern side of Wakerley Road. The building is constructed of squared coursed limestone with plain and pantiled roofs and brick chimney stacks at the roof ridge and on the gable ends. The roof ridge is stepped down on the right but the eaves line remains constant. The entrance facade has a first floor four window range of three light casements with the centre two windows grouped together. A similar range of larger casements are located on the ground floor with a gabled entrance porch to the centre right.

Full Description

House. Mid C18 restored C20. Squared coursed limestone with concrete tile roof. Originally 3-unit plan. 2 storeys, with attic. 4-window range of C19 style casements under wood lintels. C20 door, to right of centre, is also under a wood lintel. Brick stacks at ridge and end. Ridge line is on two levels. Small C20 extension to rear. Interior not inspected but noted as having an open fireplace. (RCHM: An Inventory of Architectural Monuments in North Northamptonshire: p87)

The building seems to have been divided into two dwellings as 13 and 14 Wakerley Road. The building is Listed at grade II.
