Summary
A late 17th century house that has been converted to a house and a shop/post office is located on the eastern side of Seaton Road at its junction with Wakerley Road. The building is constructed of squared coursed limestone with a double pitch and hipped Collyweston slate roof with brick chimney stacks at the ridge and on the gable ends. The street facade has a four window range of three light casements under wooden lintels to the first floor with two, four light stone mullion windows to the ground floor left. The right side of the ground floor contains the shop and post office and has a central door under a wooden lintel with a small two light window to its left and a large three light casement window on its right. The building has had mid 18th and 19th century alterations.

Full Description
House, now house and shop. Late C17 origins, mid C18 and C19. Squared coursed limestone with Collyweston slate roof. Originally 3-unit plan. 2 storeys. 4-window range of C19 casements, at first floor, under wood lintels. C17 four-light stone mullion window, to ground floor far left, and C20 window to far right. C20 shop window and attached door, to left of centre, and C20 casement, to right, all under wood lintels. Shop window has chamfered stone sill. C20 door, also under wood lintel, to righ . Brick stack at ridge, hipped roof to right. Elevation to right has single-light window, now blocked, with moulded stone surround and hood mould. Single-storey range attached to rear. Interior noted as having remains of open fireplaces, now blocked, and reset stud partition with a black and white painted pattern.
