Full Description

{1} Cross. Medieval socket and late C19th shaft and steps. Limestone ashlar. Socket with chamfered corners is set on 2 shallow steps and has a square shaft with cross finial.Inscription around base of steps: "The preaching of the Cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God". Re-sited 3 times in C19th, moved to present position and shaft and steps added c.1897 by Viscount Melville. Included for group value.

{3} Medieval with square base with chamfered and stopped corners. Was moved three times in C19th and finally in 1897 set on new plinth and furnished with new shaft. It original position may have been about 70m to the south-east.

{6} Medieval cross base. Now has a modern shaft & head. Its original location is unknown. The cross was moved twice in C19th.
