Summary

An L-plan 18th century house situated on the southern side of Main Road at its junction with Hemington Road. The building was constructed of coursed limestone with slate roofs and was remodelled during the mid to late 19th century. An early 20th century bakehouse is attached.

Full Description

House. Mid C18 and mid/late C19. Regular coursed limestone with slate and asbestos slate roofs. Originally 2-unit plan. 2 storeys. 3-window range of casements under wood lintels. Central, part-glazed door, also under wood lintel. Brick and stone stacks at ends. Roof raised slightly mid C19. Lean-to extension to left. Extension to rear, raised early C20, was originally the bakehouse. Interior may have open fireplace, now blocked, remodelled mid/late C19. Included for group value.
