Summary
A late 17th century house situated on the southern side of Main Street opposite the junction with Highfields. The house is constructed of coursed limestone and ashlar with a double pitch thatched roof with brick chimney stacks at each gable. It has a two window range of three light casements under wooden lintels with a central door under a wooden hood. The building had its roof raised in 1823 and has a circular commemorative plaque with the inscription: TS/1823. There is a 20th century extension on the southern side.

Full Description
House. Probably late C17, datestone TS/1823 refers to raising of roof. Regular coursed limestone with thatch roof. Originally 2-unit plan. 2 storeys. 2-window range of C19 casements under wood lintels. Central C20 door also under wood lintel. Brick and ashlar gable parapets and brick stacks at ends. C20 single-storey brick extension to rear. Interior has open fireplace with bressumer, ceiling beams and remains of early C19 corner cupboard. [5} Two-storey house of probably late 17th century. Built of regular limestone with thatch roof. A datestone of 1823 refers to the raising of the roof and is inscribed TS 1832. In 20th century single-storeyed brick extension to the rear. Inside the building is an open fireplace with bressumer, ceiling beams and remains of an early 19th century corner cupboard. The work of 1823 was carried out by Thomas Slatcher a local builder. Grade II listed.
