{4} In April 2021, a building survey was undertaken. 61 Little Street is a Listed building that was originally part of Mannings Farmhouse built c.1800. It represents the remnants of the SW wing. Mapping shows it was reduced first to a pair of dwellings by 1884 and to its current plan between 1884 and 1902 by adding the cottage by which time it belonged to Lilley and Skinner, a nationally known partnership of businessmen who built all the surrounding houses. Early internal features include the doorcase and staircase of c.1830-40 but most of the house is Mid to late C20th replacement or renovation. A canted bay shopfront was added in the Mid C20th (1922-1966) and the house served as a corner shop and Post Office and is marked as such on the 1966 OS map. By 1972 the interior was redecorated, blocking one of the original doors into the hall and stripping the stonework on the inside. Much of the interest is in the SW facade which depicts an early C19th dwelling.
