Full Description

House. Mid C17. Squared coursed limestone with early C20 plain tile roof. U-shaped plan. 2 storeys. 3-window range. Central ribbed and studded door has moulded stone surround with 4-centred arch head. 2-light stone mullion window above and flanking 2-storey canted stone bay windows with 6-light stone mullion windows, all with leaded lights. Chamfered plinth rises around cellar opening to left bay. Continuous hood mould between ground floor windows. Roof breaks forward over bay windows. Brick and stone stack to left and ashlar stack with moulded cornice to right end. Rear elevation has C19 addition. Interior not inspected but noted as having ceiling beams and open fireplace with bressumer. Some C17 door openings and C17 fireplace with corbelled lintel to first floor room. Central entrance was probably originally a through entry to rear courtyard. (N.M.R.: photographic collection).

{4} [Former list description] A late 1600 or early 17C house in coursed rubble. 2 storeys. 2 bays with 6-light stone mullioned windows. A moulded string joins the 2 ground floor bays. A small 2-light mullioned window over the central door, which is oak, studded, and probably original, set in a 4-centred arch and rectangular frame. Modern (good) red tile roof. 1 moulded stone stack.
