Country House. C.1822. Built for Fitzgerald family. Enlarged 1859 by E.F. Law and again in 1907. Brick with ashlar dressings and slate roof. Indeterminate plan.

Full Description
{1} Country House. C.1822. Built for Fitzgerald family. Enlarged 1859 by E.F. Law and again in 1907. Brick with ashlar dressings and slate roof. Indeterminate plan. South façade: 3-storey, 5-window range of sashes with glazing bars and moulded stone architraves. Centre 3 bays break forward at ground floor with C20 French doors set in C19 moulded stone surrounds. Pediment with large wooden cornice over centre 3 bays. Rusticated ashlar quoins. Plaque in pediment. Hipped and gabled roof with dressings at ridge. North facade similar but partially rebuilt C20. West facade C20 reconstruction following the demolition of the west wing after a fire in 1946. Interior: C20 remodelling.
