{3} {4} Level 2 building recording was undertaken. The house originates either just before or just after the English Civil War and can clearly be traced in documents from the Hearth Tax onwards. In the later 19th century it was owned by a succession of doctors to the village and the house grew to twice its current size. The extensions were demolished in the mid-20th century reducing the house to its original core. It was subdivided and in multiple tenancies during WWII. One well-known tenant in the 1940s was Stanley Unwin.
