Building record 445/0/24 - No. 23 Laud's Road

{1} House. C17. Datestone 1675/DFC above entrance, remodelled early C19. Coursed ironstone rubble, tile roof, brick stacks. 2 storeys; 2 bays. Entrance to left of centre has wood pilasters and entablature with incised decoration, flat moulded hood, panelled reveals and 6-panel part-glazed door. 3-light casement window with wood lintel to right. 12-pane window with wood lintel to left. 3-light casement windows with wood lintels to first floor. Coped gable ends with kneelers. Interior not inspected.

{3} Refurbishment of house meant dismantling for repair the north west rear corner of house. Main wall foundations shoen to be shallow at this point (c.0.2-0.3m) and overlay natural clay.
