Full Description

{1} Cottage. C17. Remodelled C19 and C20. Coursed limestone and ironstone rubble, C20 brick extensions at rear, asbestos tile roof, brick and stone stacks. 2 storeys and attic; 3 bays, the two right bays with gable. 4-light casement window with wood lintel to left. Similar windows to first floor with old iron casements and similar window to attic. Coped gable end. Early C19 extension projecting forward from left side. Said to have been former barn, now part of dwelling. Red and grey chequer brick, slate roof. One storey; 3 bays. C19 gabled stone porch with iron columns in right bay. Inner doorway has wood lintel and 6-panel door with side light. Two 5-light casement windows with wood lintels to left. Small outbuilding extension to left. C19. Brick façade, cob construction at rear, slate roof, one storey, has 3 plank doors with wood lintels and small C20 window. Interior: stop-chamfered spine beams. Open fireplace with large timber bressumer carved with Jacobean style fluted pattern. C17 fireplace with moulded stone 4-centred arch in bedroom. Said to be part of a larger house which has been reduced in size.
